How do you balance the constraints imposed by illness and gruelling treatments with what children like and don’t like to eat? Mealtimes can become a battlefield, approached with trepidation by both the parent preparing the meal and the child faced with eating it...
Some time ago, we discovered that Marie-Christine Schoevaert, founder and president of the “Ensemble, pas à pas” (One step at a time together) association was publishing her inventive kid’s recipes in the association’s two-monthly newsletter. She hates to see children losing their appetite and liking for food because of their medical treatment. There is always a way round every problem!
However, parents should seek the opinion and advice of their child’s attending doctor, dietician or nutritionist in case of doubt. Some foods absolutely must be avoided by children with certain illnesses and/or allergies.
So here are a few of her great food ideas
