You can request an unpaid leave to your employer.
You can agree with him to temporarily suspend your employment contract and determine the conditions (preferably in writing). During the period of unpaid leave, the employer shall not pay wages.
It is to be noted that this leave has consequences for social security:
You are insured for health care as long as you contribute for this purpose.
If no salary is paid, no contribution is paid.
You have no health care insurance during the period of unpaid leave.
To avoid this lack of coverage, you can subscribe to a continuing health care insurance (you pay personal contributions during your unpaid leave for being entitled to medical care).
Pension: If you pay personal contributions as indicated above, this period will be regarded as assimilated to determine your pension. If you do not pay them, this period will result in a loss of pension rights.
Annual vacation: You will lose a certain number of days of vacancy during the year following the one in which the unpaid leave was taken (in proportion to the days of unpaid leave).
Unemployment: The days of unpaid leave are not counted in the probationary period (working days) to determine your rights to unemployment allowances.
