Omdat het leven doorgans begint op de kraamafdeling van een ziekenhuis ondertekenden vertegenwoordigers van 11 zorginstellingen uit Brugge, Veurne, Roeselare, Tielt, Izegem, Ieper, Kortrijk, Waregem, Menen en Oostduinkerke het charter.<\/p>\n<h3>Rookverbod<\/h3>\n<p>Meer en meer zorginstellingen zetten de stap naar een rookvrije omgeving. Dat gaat van een rookverbod aan de ingang tot rookvrije parkings en campussen. Op sommige plaatsen zijn er nog (bewust ongezellig ingerichte) afzonderlijke rookruimtes, maar in de speeltuintjes mogen de kinderen nergens met rokende mensen in contact komen. In het ziekenhuis van Waregem staan er op de parking borden met de boodschap \u2018Gelieve hier uw sigaret te doven\u2019 en een QR-code. Die verwijst pati\u00ebnten, medewerkers en bezoekers door naar de tabacoloog.<\/p>\n<h3>Eerste stap<\/h3>\n<p>Rookvrije kraamafdelingen betekenen pas het begin van het rookvrije traject.
